1. Introduction

NexDash Autonomy GmbH ("we", "our", "us") operates the NexOS Driver mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our app.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data to provide our fleet management services:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and driver credentials provided during registration.
• Location Data (Precise / GPS): We collect your precise (GPS-based) location while the app is in use to provide turn-by-turn navigation, track route progress, and find nearby EV charging stations.
• Location Data (Approximate): We collect approximate (network-based) location to display your general area on the map and suggest nearby services.
• Background Location: When you start an active route, we collect your precise location in the background (even when the app is closed or not in use) to continuously track delivery progress, provide real-time ETAs to dispatchers, and ensure driving hours compliance with EU 561/2006 regulations. Background location collection stops automatically when the active route ends. You can revoke background location permission at any time in your device settings.
• Audio Data: Voice recordings when you use the voice issue reporting feature. Recordings are transcribed and may be stored for issue documentation.
• Photos: Images captured when reporting issues, stored as part of issue documentation.
• Device Information: Device identifier, device model, and operating system version for push notifications and crash reporting.
• Usage Data: App interaction data, crash logs, and performance diagnostics to improve app reliability.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Location (foreground): Providing turn-by-turn navigation, route optimization, and locating nearby EV charging stations
• Location (background): Tracking active delivery routes in real time so dispatchers can monitor fleet progress and provide accurate ETAs to customers
• Location (compliance): Monitoring EU 561/2006 driving hours and rest period regulations
• Processing voice and photo issue reports
• Sending push notifications for route assignments and updates
• Improving app performance and fixing bugs via crash reporting (Sentry)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Your employer/fleet operator: Real-time and historical location data, route progress, and driving hours compliance data as part of fleet management operations. Your fleet operator can see your current vehicle position during active routes.
• Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the app (cloud hosting, crash reporting, map services). These providers are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

• Sentry (crash reporting and error tracking)
• MapTiler / MapLibre (map rendering)
• Groq (voice transcription)
• Expo (push notifications)
• Supabase (authentication)

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers within the European Union. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transmission. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Route and compliance data is retained as required by EU transportation regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

Our app is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
